Terms of booking and use

1. Who we are

This website and our travel services are operated by Golden Dune Travel Services (PLACEHOLDER), Near Gadisar Circle, Gadisar Road, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan 345001, India (“we”, “us”), a group of local travel operators based in Jaisalmer. By booking with us or using the site you agree to these terms.

2. Our role: your local travel operator

We arrange and sell travel services in and around Jaisalmer: hotel and camp stays, safaris and activities, cabs and transfers, guides, and tour packages. We provide some services ourselves and others through local suppliers in our network (hotels, camps, drivers, guides). When you book with us, your booking contract is with us, and we are your single point of contact for every service on your confirmation.

We are not the official website of any monument or government body, and we do not sell official tickets or permits. Where a trip needs them, we tell you how to get them or arrange them only where the rules allow.

3. Quotes and prices

• Your price is the one in our written quote (by WhatsApp or email). It lists what is included, what is extra (for example tolls, entry tickets, camera fees) and how long it is valid. Quotes depend on availability until you confirm.
• We aim to offer local rates below those of large booking websites for the same service, but we do not guarantee that every price is the lowest available.
• Listings marked “Sample listing” are illustrative and are not offers. Hotels in the directory are listed for information; we will tell you whether we can book a particular hotel and at what rate.

4. Confirming and paying

• Deposit: a booking is confirmed when we receive the deposit stated on your quote, usually 25% of the total (100% for peak dates such as 24 December to 2 January and the Desert Festival, and for short stays booked within 7 days). We then send a written confirmation with your booking reference.
• Balance: due as stated on your quote, usually on arrival in Jaisalmer or before the first service.
• How to pay: UPI, bank transfer, or a secure payment link we send. Cash is accepted for the balance where agreed. We never ask for card numbers, PINs or OTPs on WhatsApp, by phone or on this website.
• Invoices: we issue a written receipt for every payment. Prices state whether taxes are included.
• Only pay into accounts named on our confirmation or this website. If anyone asks you to pay elsewhere in our name, contact us first.

5. Changes and cancellations

You can ask to change dates or services at any time; we will do our best and tell you of any price difference before you agree. Cancellation charges depend on the service and how close to the date you cancel; they are set out in our cancellation and refund policy and repeated on your confirmation. If we have to cancel a service we confirmed, you get a full refund for it or an alternative of equal or better standard, as you prefer.

6. Your responsibilities

• Give accurate details when you enquire and book, including the number and ages of travellers, and make sure you may share details of others in your group.
• Carry valid ID; border-area trips (Tanot, Longewala) and some hotels require it.
• Follow safety instructions from drivers, camp staff, guides and officials, and the rules of monuments and protected areas.
• Tell us about health conditions or mobility needs that affect activities such as camel rides, dune drives or the fort's steep lanes.

7. Affiliate links and flight information

Some hotel pages may link to booking sites such as Agoda or Booking.com. If you book through those links, your booking is with that site and the hotel under their terms, not with us, and we may earn a commission from them at no extra cost to you. Flight information is provided for convenience from an independent data service and may be delayed or incomplete; always confirm times with your airline. We do not sell flights.

8. Reviews and content you submit

• Reviews must be your own honest experience. We do not accept payment for reviews and do not edit ratings.
• We may decline or remove reviews that are abusive, off-topic, promotional, contain personal data of others or appear fake.
• By submitting a review you allow us to publish it (with your first name or chosen display name) on this site.

9. Acceptable use of the website

Do not misuse the site: no automated scraping that burdens the server, no attempts to break security, no false enquiries, and no copying of our guides for republication without permission. Short quotations with credit are fine.

10. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for arranging the services on your confirmation with reasonable care and skill, and for choosing suppliers we believe to be reliable and properly licensed. If a confirmed service is not provided as agreed, tell us straight away so we can put it right on the spot; where we cannot, we will refund the part not provided. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses caused by your own actions, by changes made by authorities, or by events outside reasonable control such as weather, sandstorms, strikes, border closures or government orders. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Indian consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

11. Complaints

If something goes wrong, contact us during your trip so we can fix it while you are here. After your trip, write to hello@jaisalmer.net.in with your booking reference; we reply within 7 days.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.

13. Changes to these terms
