2. Booking timeline

4. Key decisions

Sam or Khuri?

Sam for bigger dunes, more activities and a lively evening; Khuri for quiet, a real village and darker skies.

One dune night or two?

One night covers the classic sunset-to-sunrise. A second night only makes sense in a quieter or luxury camp where the day itself is the point.

Stay inside the fort?

Atmospheric but hard on a fragile monument and awkward with luggage. A haveli just below the walls gives the same view.

Train, flight or road?

Seasonal flights are quickest in winter; the overnight train from Delhi or Jaipur is the classic; a car from Jodhpur is the most flexible.

Add the Tanot–Longewala day?

Worth it for history lovers and road-trippers; it is a long, empty drive otherwise. Indian nationals carry original ID.

Frequently asked questions

Is the trip planner free?

Yes. The tools run in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to ask for a quote.

How accurate is the budget estimate?

It uses the same approximate rates as our packages and fare calculator, so it is a good planning range. Actual prices depend on dates and availability.

When should I book a desert camp?

Two to three weeks ahead in normal season, four to eight weeks ahead for Christmas–New Year and the Desert Festival.

Does the packing list save?

Your ticks are saved in this browser only, so you can come back to the list on the same device.

Can I get the matched plan quoted?

Yes — use “Get this plan quoted” under the matcher result. One of us replies on WhatsApp.
